We’re Megan (Mackool) and Alex Dacek, your photgraphers – and newlyweds.

Our love story is a pretty good one…at least we think so. Alex grew up in Gainesville, Florida and Megan attended college at the University of Florida in Gainesville (GO GATORS!). We thought our love for running is what brought us together, but God actually had that plan the whole time. Alex worked at the local running store, Fit2Run and I was a run-aholic, so naturally our paths crossed. We started running together with the community running group Alex led once a week at Fit2Run and our relationship slowly began from there. What we didn’t realize until a few months into our relationship is that a year and half before we “met” at the running store, we had actually met on the city/campus bus and sat next to each other. It was a bit of a blur, but slowly we started remembering that while on the bus we talked about our love for running, and as we parted ways we couldn’t help to think “maybe we should’ve exchanged phone numbers”.

Clearly God had a plan for it all, and no phone numbers were needed for our paths to cross again. We’ve been together for four years now and just got married in the North Carolina mountains on March 13, 2021. What a fairytale, am I right? Of course, there were many bumps along the way, but we knew it was God’s plan for us to be together and we’ve never second-guessed it. Alex is now a firefighter and Megan is a full-time electrical engineer, but together our love for photography outweighs both of these.
