Why You Need Wedding Detail Shots
Though it may not seem like the most important part of the day, the detail photos of a wedding are very important, and as a photographer I always highly suggest my brides give an ample amount of time for these photos.
Why am I so obsessed with detail shots? They are my FAVORITE and I’ll tell you why. I don’t just see rings, or a dress, or flowers. I see a story coming to life. The beginning of a lifetime of happiness starts with all of these things. The rings that you’ll be exchanging on each other’s hands are a huge part of a marriage because you’ll be wearing them forever! Capturing the rings with the brides shoes and grandma’s necklace that was passed down will never be forgotten, especially when there is a beautiful photo of them to be framed.
And not to mention, THE wedding dress! The bride’s excitement in finding the perfect dress for her groom is so special. While shopping for my wedding dress not only was I looking for what looks best on me, but I was looking for something I knew Alex would love. Not necessarily my style, but his style. And it worked just like that! He was in awe by the beauty of my dress because it was what he pictured me wearing, and it couldn’t have been more special <3
I also always suggest my brides bring a copy of the invitations and save the dates. You might have some copies put aside to place in your scrapbook, but if you don’t you’ll always have photos of them in your wedding album that you can look back on.
So brides, please please let your photographer shoot these photos, and give them plenty of time to do it! While you’re getting your hair and makeup done is a perfect time for the photographer to do this. Just set aside any and all items you want photographed, anything special between you and your future husband, any family heirlooms that have been passed down. You won’t regret it!
